Community Consultation

Consultation activities include:

• Sale and Relocation of Heritage Structures;
• public open house (Display panels from June 29, 2011);
• municipal, regulatory and community advisory groups;
• newsletters and factsheets;
• Aboriginal engagement;
• Community Value Plan; and,
• property information sessions.

As the project moves forward, further consultation with stakeholders is planned to discuss topics related to:

• opening day requirements;
• cost sharing with respect to sidewalks and bike lanes on crossing road structures;
• land acquisition and remnant parcels;
• implementation of the Community Value Plan;
• cultural heritage and archaeological considerations such as building re-use, relocation, commemoration, etc.;
• fulfillment of EA commitments;
• environmental mitigation and compensation; and,
• permitting and approvals, including species at risk
